Ever since Liam slept outside in a tent he has become obsessed with sleeping in alternate places. On more than a few occasions I have allowed him to build a "tent" out of his large play mats and sleep inside. Of course the "tent" is usally precariously built and ends up collapsing on him at some point in the middle of the night which always leaves him temporarily disoriented but try again he does. Tonight he built another contraption with mats and sheets and his art table. He has a door to the contraption that he said he is able to "open and close if the weather gets bad." I guess you never know what the conditions are going to be in your bedroom... I just checked on him and sure enough he is sound asleep jammed into this structure, all curled up and looking very, very grown up all of the sudden. I don't know how that happened or when, but the boy is getting big before my very eyes.
Tonight he was telling me about art camp today and how the dance instructor Miss Mariko was home sick with a "flute" and How he and Sam were sad because they LOVE Miss Mariko. I said, "She was home sick with the FLU?" Liam looked at me very seriously and shook his head slowly and said "Yes. Pretty sad, huh?" and then put his head down and walked away.
