Where there is smoke...there is a fire in CA

The terrible fires raging in California have managed to drift their smoke into Denver. Yesterday when we woke up the sky was filled with a smoky haze and it hung around all day and even today. You can even smell it in the air. There is some scientific reason why Denver is collecting the smoke and it has to do with inversion and the mountains and some other stuff which I don't fully understand. If it is this notable here, I can't even begin to imagine what it is like actually *in* California. Yesterday when I went out for a run it was definitely harder to breathe. I feel bad for anyone with asthma.
