Your Daily Liam

This morning Liam walked into our room and asked me, "Mommy, what do you look like when you die???" Floored by this unexpected question at 7:00 am I looked at him and tried as best as I could to answer. "Well, I guess that would depend Liam. WHY are you asking me this???" (the night before he asked me how people kill people and why people kill people and I was not prepared for THAT one either). Liam answered, "I know how you look. You look like this..." and he proceeded to get on the floor, lay on his back and cross his arms and legs and put them straight up in the air. Before I could respond he said "That is what the dead bug in my window looks like!!" I went into his room and sure enough, there on the windowsill is a huge dead bug laying on its back with it's arms and legs up in the air.

I must admit I was relieved to see the bug, which explains his sudden interest in things living and dead. The "bug in his window" has been troubling him for the past three days. On Wednesday he first spotted it and was distressed but by the time I went to get it, it was gone. Yesterday at nap he was apparently worried about it, because he kept talking about it to Emily. Last night when I went to tuck him at 9:30 he was laying at the opposite end of his bed "to get away from the bug". This morning he must have been relieved to see it was no longer going to be a problem for him. I figure he must have checked on it right when he woke up and then stared and studied it closely in order to give such an accurate portrayal this morning...
