A day (or week, depending on energy levels) in the life of a working illustrator/marathon running mommy of two small and very active boys and the wife of one bigger boy.

The (G') rents
I realized today I have not been online in well over a week. I am going to blame it on my parents. They are here visiting from Ohio and we have been busy being very, very busy. The boys and I have made them succumb to hours of Uno, the playground, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, soccer and baseball practices and a new game they invented "Let's fill up the inflatable pool and use it to fill buckets of water to dump on Grandma." Aside from the first two and half days of crazy abnormal fall like weather (55 and RAIN--deluge style rain) the weather has returned back to beautiful. It has been a really fun visit. I feel as if we are trying to cram in a year's worth of lost-time and the boys are loving it. I am loving it too. Having them visit always reminds me of how much I miss my family. I wish I could kidnap them all and move them out west with me. I worry that my boys are missing out on so much not having grandparents (or any relatives for that matter) close by. Of course when the g'rents come out to visit they are over the moon excited. The boys just seem to pick up right where they left off and they appear to grow right before my eyes from the extra love and attention. It is an awesome thing to see.
